Comrade Kalyan Trailer Review

The trailer of Comrade Kalyan is out, offering a glimpse into an unusual mix of humour, romance, action and drama. Sree Vishnu takes on yet another interesting role, while Mahima Nambiar makes her Telugu debut as the female lead.

The story is set in 1992 along the Andhra-Odisha border, where Sree Vishnu plays Kalyan, a local theatre owner. His life takes an interesting turn when he falls in love with an Odisha girl played by Mahima Nambiar. Their different languages lead to several light-hearted situations in the trailer.

However, there is more to Kalyan than his cheerful personality. The trailer reveals that he is a wanted Naxalite, putting him on the police radar. The situation becomes intense when Kalyan and his comrades kidnap a politician in an attempt to secure the release of their fellow members.

The trailer manages to balance the fun portions with the film’s more serious storyline. Sree Vishnu looks convincing in the comic scenes, while Mahima adds freshness to the proceedings. Radikaa Sarathkumar, Satya, Sudarshan and Shine Tom Chacko are also part of the cast, with Shine appearing in the role of a police officer.

Comrade Kalyan is directed by Janakiram Marella and presented by Kona Venkat. Venkata Krishna Karnati and Seetha Karnati are producing the film under the Skanda Vahana Motion Pictures LLP banner. Vijay Bulganin is composing the music, while Sai Sriram and Chota K Prasad handle cinematography and editing respectively.

The film is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release on October 9.
