Peddi locks OTT premiere date after blockbuster theatrical run
Mega Power Star Ram Charan’s Peddi has wrapped up its successful theatrical run and is now gearing up for its digital premiere. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the sports action drama turned out to be Tollywood’s highest-grossing film of the year, overtaking Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu at the box office.
The film enjoyed an exceptional run across the Telugu states, although its performance in overseas markets remained below expectations. Despite that, Peddi amassed more than Rs. 400 crore at the worldwide box office, cementing its status as one of the biggest blockbusters of the year.
The latest reports confirm that Peddi will begin streaming on Netflix from July 9 in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. As per the release strategy, the South Indian versions are arriving after a five-week theatrical window, while the Hindi version is expected to make its OTT debut in August.
Janhvi Kapoor stars opposite Ram Charan as the female lead, while Shruti Haasan makes a special appearance in a vibrant dance number. The film also boasts a strong supporting cast featuring Shiva Rajkumar, Divyenndu, Boman Irani, Jagapathi Babu, Tarak Ponnappa, and several others. Academy Award-winning composer AR Rahman has scored the film’s music.
