In a surprising development, Sangeetha Sornalingam, wife of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, has withdrawn the divorce petition she had filed a few months ago. She appeared before the court via video conference and informed Judge Sujatha of her decision. After questioning her for around 15 minutes, the judge accepted the withdrawal and closed the proceedings. However, Sangeetha has reportedly retained the right to file a fresh petition in the future.
Speculation about differences between the couple had surfaced in recent years, particularly after Sangeetha stayed away from several major public and political events involving Vijay. Her earlier petition reportedly cited allegations of an extramarital relationship, which she claimed had caused emotional distress and contributed to the breakdown of their marriage.
