Story
Anvesh (Sumanth Prabhas) is working on his startup with his friends while planning to launch a dating app called Romanchakam. Through the app, he connects with Chennai girl Mythili (Ananthika Sanilkumar), and their conversations gradually blossom into love.
Hoping to surprise her, Anvesh travels to Chennai and asks to meet Mythili, but she avoids him. However, a few days later, she unexpectedly arrives in Hyderabad to meet him.
When the two finally meet at a friend’s flat, things take an unexpected turn as Mythili suddenly goes missing. Where did she disappear? What led to her disappearance? Will Anvesh and Mythili overcome their misunderstandings and reunite? The film revolves around these questions.
Artists Performance
Sumanth Prabhas has already appeared in two films, but Romanchakam marks his first outing in an urban-centric role. He fits the character of a young IT professional well and carries the role with ease. He also looks more polished compared to his previous films and maintains a natural, casual performance throughout.
Ananthika Sanilkumar looks beautiful, but her character suffers from limited screen time and weak characterization. She is also missing from a significant portion of the film, which affects her overall impact.
The gang of friends delivers several entertaining moments, with the actor playing Chintu particularly standing out and stealing the show. Upendra Limaye, who plays a police inspector, gets a role that doesn’t leave much of an impression.
Technical Aspects
The movie scores reasonably well in terms of production and technical aspects. The cinematography is decent, while two songs stand out and add to the overall experience. The witty dialogues work effectively, especially in the first half.
However, the second half loses momentum due to the editing. With director Venu Gopal Reddy also handling the editing, the film could have benefited from tighter cuts. Several sequences feel dragged out, which affects the pacing and makes the latter half less engaging.

Romanchakam is a fun-filled comedy entertainer that mainly relies on friendship and the chemistry between Sumanth Prabhas and his gang. The comedy works well in several places, while Ananthika Sanilkumar makes a good impression.
The film has a slow start, and the emotional portions could have been stronger. The second half also loses some pace. However, as a light-hearted time-pass watch with decent comedy, Romanchakam works in parts.
