Annapurna Studios has officially announced its new small-budget rural entertainer, Pallaburusu, and the film has already sparked curiosity with its unique concept. Set in a village backdrop, the quirky drama revolves around a simple toothbrush, making for an unusual yet intriguing premise.
The story follows an elderly farmer who repeatedly urges his son to buy him a toothbrush, as he can no longer endure the pain of cleaning his teeth with a traditional neem twig. This seemingly ordinary request forms the crux of the film’s narrative.
To kick off the promotions, the makers unveiled the film’s first-look poster along with the title glimpse. The poster features lead actors Sudhakar Reddy and Muralidhar Goud sitting back-to-back on a giant toothbrush designed like a balancing scale outside a district courthouse, hinting at the film’s offbeat and entertaining storyline.
Apart from Sudhakar Reddy and Muralidhar Goud, the film also stars Prajwal Yadma and Gomathy in pivotal roles.
Written and directed by Uday Chauhan, Pallaburusu is produced by Annapurna Studios in association with Epic Studios, with Aditya Pittie and Vivek Krishnani serving as co-producers. Pawan CH has composed the music.
The film is slated for a theatrical release on August 14, 2026, aiming to capitalize on the Independence Day holiday weekend.
