Webseries Description
Veteran actor Srikanth returns to the spotlight with the Telugu courtroom drama web series Objection My Lord, which has now premiered on ZEE5. With the series finally available for streaming, let’s take a look at how this legal drama fares and whether it lives up to expectations.
Story
Narayana (Rayala Harishchandra) approaches the police seeking help after his daughter, Sameera, goes missing, but his complaint is ignored. Left with no other option, he turns to the High Court in search of justice. However, with no lawyer willing to take up the case due to insufficient evidence, a devastated Narayana ends his life on the court premises.
Shaken by the tragic incident, advocate Parashuram (Srikanth) steps forward and files a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) to uncover the truth and deliver justice. Can Parashuram prove his case and emerge victorious? What really happened to Sameera? Does she actually exist, or is there more to the mystery? Why did the police refuse to register Narayana’s complaint, and what obstacles does Parashuram encounter during his legal battle? The answers to these questions unfold in this gripping courtroom drama.
Artists Performance
Srikanth carries the series on his shoulders with a compelling performance. His character is constantly underestimated and mocked by others in the courtroom, and a particular incident deeply affects his confidence. Portraying a lawyer battling self-doubt and facing humiliation from his peers, Srikanth delivers a convincing and impactful performance.
Ananya Sharma adds strength to the narrative with her effective portrayal of Srikanth’s assistant. Her entry becomes a turning point in the protagonist’s journey, helping him regain confidence and fight back. Sameer, Gemini Suresh, Rayala Harishchandra, and Snehal Kamat also make their presence felt with commendable performances in their supporting roles.
Technical Aspects
Brahma Kadali’s production design stands out, with the courtroom setup looking realistic and adding authenticity to the proceedings. Arunn Chiluveru’s music complements the narrative well, while Sai Kishore Korani’s editing is crisp and effective. The overall production values are impressive.
Suryaa, who serves as the cinematographer and showrunner of Objection My Lord, delivers impactful visuals with his camera work. Santhosh Ayyappan’s direction is decent and keeps the proceedings engaging. Although the series had the scope to explore its premise on a much larger scale, it still manages to be a decent and watchable legal drama despite its limitations.
Final Word
On the whole, Objection My Lord emerges as a decent courtroom drama with a relevant social theme at its core. Though the series follows a familiar path and does not bring many fresh elements to the genre, it works well due to the sincere performances, engaging courtroom moments, and well-paced narration.
Overall who enjoy legal dramas and courtroom-based stories, Objection My Lord is a one-time watch worth considering.
