The teaser of the upcoming period action drama David Reddy has been unveiled on the birthday of Manchu Manoj, offering a glimpse into an intense and visually grand cinematic world set during British-ruled India.
Produced by Nallagangula Venkat Reddy and Bharat Motukuri under the Velvet Soul Motion Pictures and True Radix banners, the film is directed by Hanuma Reddy Yakkanti. The movie is being mounted as a pan-India project in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, with a theatrical release planned for the Dussehra season.

Set between 1897 and 1920, the teaser presents David Reddy as a fierce rebel who chooses violence over non-violence in his battle against British oppression. While freedom fighters like Gandhi advocated peace, David Reddy wages a brutal war against colonial rulers who torture innocent Indians. His growing influence reportedly reaches national leaders such as Jawaharlal Nehru and Subhas Chandra Bose, while British Intelligence in London views him as a major threat to the Empire.
One of the teaser’s most intriguing aspects is the mystery surrounding the protagonist. Despite protecting innocent people and fearlessly taking on thousands of British soldiers, David Reddy is also accused of betraying his own nation. The teaser raises several unanswered questions about his motives, the reasons behind Indians demanding his arrest, and his relationship with a British woman.
The British authorities eventually begin referring to him as “Rakshas Reddy,” underlining the ruthless and terrifying aura surrounding the character. Manchu Manoj appears in a powerful and intense role, with the teaser heavily emphasizing stylized action, large-scale visuals, and strong production design.
Overall, the teaser promises a high-scale historical action drama packed with rebellion, mystery, emotion, and war-era intrigue.
