Nandamuri Balakrishna made several important remarks on the present situation of Telugu cinema while speaking at the oath-taking ceremony of the newly appointed Andhra Pradesh Film Development Corporation chairman and board members in Vijayawada.
Balakrishna said that the theatrical sector is currently facing difficult times and emphasized the need to support exhibitors and theater owners. He observed that filmmakers in earlier generations completed movies much faster despite lacking advanced technology, whereas production timelines have now increased considerably in the modern era.
The senior actor further stated that nearly 65–70% of Telugu cinema’s box office revenue is presently coming from Andhra Pradesh. He praised audiences in the state for their consistent encouragement and support toward films, adding that exhibitors largely depend on a regular flow of movie releases to sustain theatrical business.
Balakrishna also mentioned that the Andhra Pradesh government is prepared to support the film industry and expressed hope that the Telangana government would likewise extend the necessary cooperation for the overall development and growth of Telugu ci
