Ajith’s Billa Set for a Grand Re-Release Soon

Ajith Kumar and Nayanthara’s stylish action thriller Billa was a massive blockbuster during its original release. The film was later remade in Telugu with Prabhas and Anushka Shetty under the direction of Meher Ramesh. While the Telugu version also released as Billa and performed reasonably well, the Tamil original remains one of Ajith’s most celebrated films.

Released in 2007, Billa became a sensational hit in Tamil cinema and rewrote several box office records. The film elevated Ajith’s mass image to new heights, while Nayanthara’s glamorous appearance and Namitha’s screen presence added to its huge popularity. Directed by Vishnuvardhan, the action entertainer continues to enjoy a strong fan following even today.

Now, the makers are bringing the film back to theatres with a grand re-release. The Telugu theatrical rights have been acquired by AG Arts Srinivas for a fancy price, and the re-release will be presented under the AG Arts banner.

Producer Prakruthi Posa is backing the re-release, while Harsha Vardhan, who directed Pawan Kalyan’s Panjaa, is associated with the project. The official re-release date is expected to be announced soon.
