3/5

Movie Description

Ameer Log makes its way to theaters with an engaging story rooted in the lives and experiences of Hyderabad’s youth. The film has generated positive curiosity through its promotions and premiere shows. Here’s a look at whether it delivers on the expectations.

Story

Srinu (Hari Munnangi), Rafiq (Manoj Aavula), and Mallesh (Shashidhar Kotcharla Kota) are inseparable childhood friends from an Old City basti. With no jobs and little direction in life, they spend most of their time roaming around together. Despite their carefree lifestyle, the three are sincere, innocent, and good-natured.

Geetha (Veda Jalandhar), a software employee who lives in the same locality, shares a special bond with them and treats the trio like her younger brothers. Meanwhile, she is romantically involved with her team leader Ravi (Nitturu).

Their lives take an unexpected turn when Ravi commits a serious injustice against the three friends. Shocked by his actions, Geetha chooses to walk away from her relationship with him.

What made Ravi turn against Srinu, Rafiq, and Mallesh? What exactly happened between them, and how do the three friends respond to the injustice? The film gradually reveals the answers.

Artists Performance

The three young actors : Hari Munnangi as Srinu, Manoj Aavula as Rafiq, and Shashidhar Kota as Mallesh have delivered impressive performances despite being newcomers. They lived up to their roles and brought a genuine, realistic touch to their characters. These three characters are the backbone of the film, with Hari particularly standing out as Srinu.

Veda Jalandhar is impressive as Geetha and showcases a noticeable variation compared to her previous film. Vishwendar Reddy excels as Chacha, with the emotional depth in his character making an impact. Ravan, who plays Ravi, also delivers a convincing performance, while Sai Yogi makes his presence felt.

The actors portraying the parents also perform naturally and effectively. Overall, the performances are one of the film’s major strengths. The director deserves credit for bringing out such natural performances from the entire cast and succeeds in making the characters feel authentic.

Technical Aspects

Smaran Sai’s music is one of the film’s positives, with the songs leaving a good impression. The soundtrack also suits the Old City backdrop and effectively complements the lives and atmosphere portrayed in the film. Saliganti Vijay Kumar’s cinematography is decent, while Rohith’s editing could have been more crisp to improve the pace.

Madhavi Reddy Soma has maintained decent production values. Director Ramana Reddy Soma deserves credit for choosing a realistic and rooted story and presenting it with authenticity. However, the film struggles when it comes to making that story engaging and commercially appealing. The narration is slow, which affects the overall impact.

Final Word

Ameer Log is a simple and relatable story that captures the everyday lives, emotions, and aspirations of the youth around us. With its realistic moments, heartfelt emotions, and meaningful message, the film makes for a genuine attempt that should appeal to audiences who enjoy simple, realistic stories.
