Yash’s Toxic is undoubtedly one of the most-awaited films from Sandalwood, and after a series of delays, the gangster action drama is finally scheduled to arrive in theatres on August 26. Written by Yash and directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film boasts an impressive ensemble cast featuring Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth, and Huma Qureshi.
The much-awaited theatrical trailer was unveiled today at a grand event in Bengaluru, offering audiences a closer look at the film’s world. What immediately stands out is the trailer’s unconventional presentation. Clocking in at more than four minutes, it refuses to follow the usual template and instead focuses on establishing the film’s mood, characters, conflicts, and larger themes.
Toxic appears to be a layered gangster saga revolving around power, love, betrayal, war, peace, and the courage to challenge the system. At the heart of the story seems to be a tense father-son conflict, which adds an emotional dimension to the otherwise action-driven narrative.
The trailer also pushes boundaries with some unexpected visuals, including a sequence where Yash appears nude. The bold moment aligns with the film’s intriguing tagline, “A fairy tale for the grownups.” Meanwhile, the action sequences are visually spectacular, promising a high-octane cinematic experience backed by massive scale and impressive choreography.
