Mega Prince Varun Tej’s upcoming horror-comedy Korean Kanakaraju is all set to hit theatres worldwide on August 7. Directed by Merlapaka Gandhi, the film stars Ritika Nayak as the female lead and has already created a positive buzz ahead of its release.
The film has reportedly recorded an impressive pre-release business, with its OTT, satellite, audio, and Hindi dubbing rights fetching a massive Rs. 26 crore. This strong non-theatrical deal has helped the makers recover a significant portion of the film’s investment even before its theatrical debut.
Mounted on an estimated budget of Rs. 38 crore, Korean Kanakaraju is said to be in a comfortable financial position. Trade analysts believe the film’s theatrical rights could fetch an additional Rs. 12–15 crore, further strengthening its overall business prospects.
The healthy pre-release market is being attributed to the positive reception received by the teaser, songs, and promotional campaign, all of which have generated encouraging buzz among audiences and distributors alike.
Alongside Varun Tej and Ritika Nayak, popular comedian Satya plays a key role in the film. Produced by UV Creations in association with First Frame Entertainments, Korean Kanakaraju features music composed by S. Thaman.
