Story
Nivedita (Sri Gouri Priya) is trying to rebuild her life after a heartbreaking incident leaves her emotionally shattered. Artists Performance
One of the biggest strengths of Chennai Love Story is its performances. Kiran Abbavaram delivers what can easily be regarded as one of the finest performances of his career. As Steven, he convincingly portrays the journey of an orphan with big dreams, effortlessly transitioning from a determined youngster to a caring lover and, eventually, a man weighed down by emotional pain. His natural screen presence keeps the narrative engaging throughout.
Sri Gouri Priya is equally impressive as Nivedita, delivering a mature and emotionally layered performance. She beautifully conveys her character’s pain, vulnerability, and inner strength, relying on subtle expressions that make several emotional scenes highly effective. Her breakup sequence and the emotionally charged moments after the interval stand out as some of her best work in the film.
Thrigun leaves a mark as Ajay, bringing sincerity and depth to a role that could have easily been one-dimensional. He handles the character with restraint, making his presence meaningful. Among the supporting cast, Siri Hanumanthu, Mahender, Naveen, and Pooja provide enjoyable moments as the close-knit group of friends, while Pramodini and Devi Prasad deliver convincing performances as the parents. Karuna Kumar adds weight to the narrative, and veteran filmmaker P. Vasu makes a noteworthy cameo appearance.
