The ongoing rental-versus-percentage-sharing issue between producers and exhibitors in Telangana has taken another significant turn. The dispute prompted the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC) to form a special sub-committee aimed at implementing and monitoring the percentage-sharing model across the state.
Although TFCC had earlier passed a resolution assuring that Peddi would not face any release hurdles, exhibitors have reportedly maintained that the new revenue-sharing system should begin with the highly anticipated Peddi starring Ram Charan.
As the issue remains unresolved, exhibitors today met Chiranjeevi to discuss the growing challenges faced by single-screen theatres in Telangana. The crucial meeting was also attended by TFCC President D. Suresh Babu and producer K. L. Narayana.
Prominent industry figures including Dil Raju, Suniel Narang, exhibitor Sridhar, Telangana Film Chamber President Juvvaadi Shekar, Anupam Reddy, Vijayender Reddy, and Bala Govind are also participating in the high-level discussions.
The outcome of these talks is expected to play a key role in shaping the future theatrical business model in Telangana, especially ahead of the release of big-budget Telugu films.
